WATCH: Former Cub Alfonso Soriano returns to Wrigley Field
There was a familiar face back at the Friendly Confines on Wednesday.
Former Cub Alfonso Soriano was in town with his son’s travel baseball team from Tampa, Fla. and was at Wrigley Field with the rest of the team. He caught up with Taylor McGregor on Cubs Live! to discuss his memories of Chicago, seeing his son grow up and Christopher Morel.
Soriano played seven seasons with the Cubs, hitting .264 with an .812 OPS, 181 home runs and 526 RBI. He helped guide the team to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2007-2008.
He praised Morel’s hot start and his ability to succeed after getting the call from Double-A Tennessee.
