Sky offseason update: MVPs on and off the court
Euroleague play is in full swing, and multiple Sky players have had success both on and off the hardwood.
Below is the updated list of the Sky players overseas and their respective teams.
Rebekah Gardner – Spar Girona in Spain

Rebekah Gardner, G
In early October, Gardner & Spar Girona won the Women’s Spanish Super Cup (Supercopa Española Femenina) with a 70-65 victory over Valencia Basket. Gardner earned MVP with her 13 points, 1 block and 1 steal while also going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.

Since the Super Cup victory, Spar Girona went on a 3-game winning streak before picking up its first loss of the season, 69-57, to Villenueve on Oct. 12. Gardner averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists during the 3-game winning streak. She finished up October with a 20-point game in their 65-49 win against Lointek Gernika Bizkai.
Ruthy Hebard, F
In Hungary, Hebard and Atomerőmű KSC Szekszárd have gone 5-2 since their season began in September. Hebard has attacked the glass, averaging 10 points and 6 rebounds. She put up a season-high 20 points on Oct. 26 in their 82-71 loss to USK Praha and had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in their 97-60 win over PINKK-Pecsi on Oct. 29.
Dana Evans, G
Dana Evans has been dominating in Turkey for Besiktas, averaging 11.5 points over three games. She scored a season-high 28 points in the season opener on Oct. 9. Evans put up 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals in the 72-58 loss to Galatasaray and teammate Azurá Stevens on Oct. 22.
Azurá Stevens, F
Stevens put up a double-double in the match-up against Besiktas with 12 points and 13 rebounds. She notched another one with 17 points and 10 rebounds on Oct. 30 in their 78-55 win over Hatay Büyüksehir.
Julie Allemand, G
Allemand joined LDLC Lyon ASVEL Féminin, who began French league play on Oct. 30th with their 76-72 win over Villenueve. She didn’t see playing time in the matchup.
News & Notes
Emma Meesseman is still tending to a left calf injury she injured during the quarterfinals of the FIBA World Cup and is not currently with Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü in Istanbul.
Courtney Vandersloot will not be traveling overseas to join Sopron in Hungary for the foreseeable future.
Sky players have done some things off the court as well. Kahleah Copper earned some recognition in her hometown of Philadelphia with her own mural.

Candace Parker has been sitting courtside for the NBA, calling her first NBA game with Reggie Miller, Stephanie Ready and Kevin Harlan on Oct. 20. She’ll continue to be on the NBA schedule.

Evans also announced the launch of her own lash kiosk in partnership with OpulenceMD Beauty with the first kiosks coming at her alma mater of Louisville.
