Tom Pelissero on NFL GameDay reported Sunday morning that Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is “intrigued by the Bears job.”
Pelissero goes on to list a variety of factors that make the Bears head coaching job attractive, including Caleb Williams, the amount of salary cap the Bears have, the draft capital at their disposal – all while playing in a major market.
Pelissero also mentions how Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren has “a lot of connections around the league” that has allowed the Bears to get a jumpstart on their head coaching search.
The Bears wouldn’t be able to talk with NFL assistant coaches like Ben Johnson until after the regular season ends.
