NFL mock draft roundup: Omarion Hampton, Ashton Jeanty linked to Bears
NFL mock drafts are submitted at all times of year, spring or summer, rain or shine. They’re worth a bit more the closer we get to the actual NFL draft in late April, with teams addressing needs through free agency.

The Bears addressed several roster inadequacies with piles of cash and some light draft capital this month, revamping the offensive and defensive lines.
That should, in theory, create a real possibility that the Bears go with a luxury item at No. 10 overall. That could be a running back or a tight end. Or the Bears could continue investing in the fronts with a pass rusher or pass protector.
We got some variation in who the Bears might take from top draft analysts following the strongest free-agency waves, though LSU’s Will Campbell keeps showing up as a Bears option. That includes my seven-round Bears mock draft.
Let’s take a look at talents mocked to the Bears at No. 10, and sometimes beyond that, in the latest mock draft roundup.
Bucky Brooks, NFL.com
RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina
Analysis: “Ben Johnson’s immense success with a two-back rotation in Detroit could prompt Chicago to expend its top pick on a physical runner to partner with the dynamic D’Andre Swift.”
Chad Reuter, NFL.com
No. 10 overall: OT Armand Membou, Missouri
Analysis: “Membou manned right tackle for most of his three seasons at Missouri but handled weak-side edge rushers when occasionally lining up as a tight end outside the left tackle. General manager Ryan Poles — briefly a Bears offensive lineman himself — may believe the athletic, long Membou can make the transition permanently to challenge Braxton Jones, a free agent in 2026, for the LT spot this season.”
No. 39 overall: JT Tuimoloau, Ohio State
No. 41 overall: TE Mason Taylor, LSU
No. 72 overall: Carson Schwesinger, UCLA
Josh Liskiewitz, Pro Football Focus
RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
Analysis: “Jeanty is a total-package backfield playmaker with impressive balance, footwork, vision, explosiveness and big-play ability — reminiscent of Alvin Kamara. He is a first-round offensive weapon who can succeed behind any blocking scheme.”
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports
OL Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas
Analysis: “They upgraded their offensive line in free agency, but will continue to do so here by taking Banks to challenge Braxton Jones at left tackle. They could also consider taking a defensive edge or inside player here. But the push to fix the line will win out.”
Ben Standing, The Athletic
EDGE Mykel Williams, Georgia
Analysis: “Signing free agent Dayo Odeyingbo should not preclude the Bears from pursuing an edge defender, whether they’re monitoring a Trey Hendrickson trade or dipping into this deep class. The potential wrinkle is whether new head coach Ben Johnson wants to replicate Jahmyr Gibbs’ running back electricity in Chicago.”
