Ashton Jeanty confidently agrees Bears should trade up to draft him

3 weeks agoTony Andracki

More smoke has emerged connecting running back Ashton Jeanty and the Chicago Bears in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jeanty recently was asked how he felt about the Bears potentially trading up to draft him, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported multiple personnel people believe the team is “praying” the Boise State star will fall to them at the No. 10 pick.

CHGO posted Instagram video of Jeanty’s response Wednesday:

“I feel pretty good. I don’t think that would be a bad decision by them,” Jeanty responded.

Jeanty is projected to go No. 5 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars in many mock drafts — ESPNNFL.comUSA TODAY and CBS, for example, all have that prediction.

Jeanty scored a whopping 30 touchdowns as a junior last season, along with 2,601 rushing yards on 374 carries (a 7.0 average) and 138 receiving yards on 23 catches, and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting.

The Bears’ current running back depth chart includes D’Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson and Travis Homer. New coach Ben Johnson used two running backs — Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery — in Detroit to help take the Lions’ offense to the next level over the last two seasons.

The Bears hold two second-round picks (Nos. 39 and 41 overall), a third-round selection (No. 72) and other future choices to leverage in a potential trade-up scenario.

The Jeanty-to-Bears chatter certainly has reached sports bettors, as the odds of the running back heading to Chicago jumped from +300 to -190 on DraftKings and -180 on FanDuel.

Marquee Sports Network insider Scott Bair released his latest Bears seven-round mock draft Thursday morning and has the team selecting Penn State tight end Tyler Warren at No. 10. He also projects the Bears to take a running back (Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson) in the third round.
