CHICAGO – Marquee Sports Network this week celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Cubs’ 1984 division clincher with a special hour-long discussion with key players from the 1984 team.
1984 Cubs Clincher: 40th Anniversary brought to you by UI Health premieres Tuesday, September 24th, marking the 40th anniversary of Rick Sutcliffe’s complete game victory at Three Rivers Stadium to clinch the team’s first postseason berth since 1945.
The one-hour special features nine players from the memorable 1984 team discussing their favorite memories from the season and looking back at footage from the game and the clubhouse postgame celebration. Hosted by Cole Wright, the memorable conversation includes the following players:

1984 Cubs Clincher: 40th Anniversary premieres on Tuesday at 3 PM CT, following a full replay of the classic game beginning at 12:30 PM CT. The hour-long clincher special will also re-air immediately following Cubs coverage on Tuesday (5:40 PM first pitch) and will be available on-demand on the Marquee Sports Network App.
