Linebacker Jack Sanborn summarizes ‘tough day’ for Bears
Though there were not many positive moments for the Bears on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, second year linebacker Jack Sanborn provided a personal highlight in the 3rd quarter, recording his first-career interception.
Speaking to Marquee Sports Network’s Jeff Joniak after the game on The Official Bears Postgame Live presented by United, Sanborn recognized the personal accolade while acknowledging the team’s need for improvement.
While Sanborn took pride in the interception and the ensuring 42-yard return to set up the offense, he was unhappy after the loss.
“It’s good to have a first career pick actually count,” said Sanborn. “So at least one positive to take away and put the offense in field position. But overall, a tough day out there.”
He also talked about how the Bears will respond after an 0-3 start, saying, “Everyone in the locker room is still a pro and they understand it’s onto the next week. It’s three weeks, three tough weeks, but there’s 14 more. Got a lot of ball to play, a lot to play for.”
Sanborn said the team has to own up to getting outplayed by a very good team. The mentality for the Bears when they return to Halas Hall Wednesday: have your eyes set on next week.
