Ian Happ details his busy offseason and charts goals for 2025

2 hours agoKarli Bell

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ has stayed busy this offseason, ranging from sitting in the stands at multiple Chicago sporting events to creating new coffee flavors for his coffee brand Connect Roasters.

“It’s just awesome being in the city,” Happ said on Cubs 360. “It was great. We got to go to the Bears game on Dec. 26th, and we did the Winter Classic at Wrigley. Just a really fun week in Chicago, and you can’t say enough about the fans coming out and supporting both those teams.”

While his personal ventures have been fun to witness, it’s now all eyes on the upcoming 2025 Chicago Cubs season and his routine heading into Spring Training. His goal?

“Being on the field and being consistent is the biggest thing,” Happ said. “You don’t want to do anything too drastic in change if you’ve been healthy and on the field. Luckily, for me throughout my career, I’ve been able to do that.”

Looking at the 2025 Chicago Cubs roster, Happ is now the longest tenured player on the Cubs after the departure of Kyle Hendricks to the Los Angeles Angels back in November. With that came some reflection for Happ on his career in Chicago.

“I was at a wedding this offseason and got to spend some time with some former teammates,” he said. “It is crazy when you look back and just how long I’ve been a Cub, how long I’ve been in the city, I have a sense of pride for this organization, the fan base and everything that comes along with it. I’m lucky to have been here as long as I have and continue to try and represent the organization the best way possible.”
