Fergie Jenkins statue ceremony to air live Friday on Marquee Sports Network
CHICAGO (May 18, 2022) – Marquee Sports Network will have coverage all day this Friday as the Chicago Cubs unveil a statue honoring legendary Cubs pitcher and Hall of Famer, Ferguson Jenkins. The statue will be unveiled in Gallagher Way outside Wrigley Field with the coverage beginning at 11:30 AM.
In commemoration of the right-hander’s big day, Marquee Sports Network has a special Fergie Day lineup of programming dedicated to the Chicago Cubs all-time strikeout leader:

Following the statue unveiling at 11:30 AM, Jenkins will join the Cubs Live! pregame show for an interview, and also will join the game broadcast for an in-game interview.
A native of Chatham, Ontario, Jenkins became the first-ever Canadian elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame following a 19-season major league career, including 10 seasons with the Chicago Cubs. His 347 games started and 2,038 strikeouts with Chicago are the most in franchise history and he is one of 18 pitchers in major league history with over 3000-career strikeouts.
Fergie will become the fourth Cubs player recognized with a statue outside Wrigley Field, joining Ernie Banks, Ron Santo and Billy Williams to form a new “Statue Row” in Gallagher Way. Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Caray is also recognized with a statue at the intersection of Waveland and Sheffield.
