Cubs shake up pitching staff again on final road trip of 2024 season
The roster moves keep coming for the Cubs over the final week of the 2024 campaign.
The day after acquiring Enoli Paredes off waivers, the Cubs added the right-hander to the roster. To make room for him, Gavin Hollowell was optioned to the Arizona Complex League.
Paredes turns 29 on Saturday and carried a 1.74 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 17 games for the Milwaukee Brewers this year.

He is out of options and was designated for assignment by the Brewers last week. The Cubs can get a look at the intriguing right-hander for a few days as they look to build their bullpen for 2025.
Hollowell was called up Monday along with Caleb Kilian. He pitched 1.1 shutout innings during Monday’s loss to the Phillies.
The Cubs claimed the 26-year-old Hollowell off waivers from the Diamondbacks in August.
