Courtney Williams named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week
The new Chicago point guard in Courtney Williams was named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second time in her career. She’s the first Sky player to earn the honor this season
Williams had a career week during the Sky’s 3-0 performance, racking up a combined 61 points over the three wins. She picked up her first career triple-double on June 30 with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in the win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
She set her season high in points on Wednesday with 21 before snapping that just a few days later with 28 points and shooting 70% from the floor and 4-for-5 from the three-point line against the Indiana Fever.
Williams currently ranks 5th in the league with a 6.1 assist average and in the top 10 in defensive rebounds with a 5.5 average.
Williams and the Sky stay at home this week with two 7 p.m. games against the Atlanta Dream on July 7 and July 9.
