Christopher Morel had the most wholesome response in aftermath of classic walk-off
Christopher Morel tried to stay off his phone.
After his iconic, walk-off home run in the Crosstown Classic, Morel’s phone was lit up with messages and phone calls — but he didn’t look at them.
Well, save one.
It came from his grandmother, who doesn’t own a cell phone or TV, in the Dominican Republic. She doesn’t often call or watch his games, but Morel’s father visited her and showed her video of the epic home run. She called him to congratulate him.
And it meant so much to Morel since he doesn’t speak too often with her.

His grandma, who doesn’t own a cell phone and doesn’t watch his games, saw a replay with the elder Morel and she called him to congratulate him.
“She’s the most famous person.”
Morel’s celebration on the field marked one of the best moments of the season.
