LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Bears receiver Keenan Allen hasn’t practiced since Week 1 due to a heel issue that requires rest.

That kept him out of a loss to the Houston Texans. It will eliminate him from Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Matt Eberflus ruled Allen out of the contest, a fact that was reflected in Friday’s official Bears injury report.

Allen won’t travel to Indianapolis with the team for personal reasons, but his heel is getting better and it’s not believed to keep him out an extended stretch.

Fullback Khari Blasingame, defensive tackle Zacch Pickens were ruled out and guard Nate Davis is questionable with a groin injury suffered in Wednesday’s practice. Running back Travis Homer was also deemed unavailable against the Colts, and will be for an extended stretch. He injured his finger on Thursday that required surgery to repair. Eberflus said that Homer will be placed on injured reserve, meaning he’ll miss a minimum of four weeks.

If Davis can’t go, Matt Pryor will play in his stead. Even if Davis is available, though, it’s possible we see a rotation at the right guard spot.

Left guard Teven Jenkins missed Wednesday’s practice with a deep thigh bruise, but he practiced on Thursday and Friday and will be available for the Bears, a positive development considering his talent and importance to an offensive line looking to improve upon recent performance.
