Alanna Smith brings offensive versatility to new Sky team
Chicago Sky forward Alanna Smith had an impressive season overseas with an average of 23 points a game in Poland. General manager James Wade’s prowess in finding international talent put Smith on his radar.
“For him, a lot of my upside is my versatility,” Smith said. “I can play out on the perimeter. I’m a 3-point shooter. I think he really wants me to spread the floor and be able to just catch and shoot and let it fly.”
With that versatility also comes an underdog, gritty mentality that is shared across the roster.
“Yeah there are preseason rankings, but we kind of want to forget the outside noise and focus on how we want to build our own identity,” Smith said.
