6 hours agoKyle Millinowisch

Ryan Poles said no stone would be left unturned as the Bears search for their new head coach.

Well, he’s nothing if not a man of his word.

The Bears are reportedly set to interview 1995 Heisman Trophy Award winner and current head coach of Tennessee State Eddie George on Sunday, according to Jay Glazer.

George is known for his illustrious playing career both in college and in the NFL. From 1992-1995, George was a premiere running back in college football, racking up over 3,700 yards on the ground. In 10 NFL seasons, George accumulated over 10,000 yards rushing with the Oilers/Titans and Cowboys.

Since 2021, the College Hall of Famer has been at the helm for the Tennessee State Tigers. During his tenure, the Tigers have a 24-22 record with a postseason berth in 2024. Tennessee State is in the Big South–OVC Football Association.

George was named Big South–OVC Coach of the Year in 2024.
