How important is this week for the return of baseball?
Matt Spiegel, Len Kasper and Bruce Levine joined Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily, presented by Miller Lite, to discuss the timetable of the return of baseball in 2020.
Levine stressed how important this week is if they want to start by the projected date of early July for the start of the regular season.
“The most important thing is that the fans get back their game. The most noticeable takeaway from the Memorial Day holiday was everyone kind of felt like they were on vacation somewhere else because there was no sports to watch. We need sports back. We need baseball, in particular, to watch. That’s the game of the summer.”
Spiegel emphasized how this could affect the MLB’s image if other leagues start first.
“This is a big, big week because of the timeframe…You don’t want to be baseball and see the NBA or NHL come back first…the frustration would be very, very large.”
