Anthony Rizzo plays hero extending Cub’s winning streak over virtual Brewers
The virtual Cubs used a 3-run 8th inning to keep their winning streak alive with a 7-5 victory over the Brewers. The Cubs improved to 29-23 and are currently on a 4 game winning streak heading into tomorrow’s contest.
The Cubs were down 4-1 heading into the 6th inning when Contreras and Happ both homered to tied the game at 4. With the bases loaded and one out in the 8th inning, Anthony Rizzo comes up with a clutch 3-run double off of Josh Hader. Rizzo’s double helped secure the Cub’s a 7-5 victory. Yu Darvish was pulled after 4 innings, 6 hits, 4 earned runs, 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Craig Kimbrel escaped a 9th inning jam with 2 runners on with 2 outs by striking out Ryan Braun to grab his 14th save.
